About Saran Jute Bags

This was the first time I had ever sold my own goods, so I was both excited and terrified. Surprisingly, though, because my products’ quality, printing, colors, and patterns were different, I was able to compete well with my seniors. The Hindu newspaper published an article on me in “Start-up Entrepreneurs” during my first exhibit, which inspired me and reached out to individuals in the state and city. Later, Sakshi, Namaste Telangana, and Eenadu covered a lot of my stalls’ photos.
Over the course of my five-year adventure, I have had my products on display at numerous expos held in various locations around the nation. The fact that Saran Jute Bags products were being used by people all throughout the nation gave me more confidence to apply for an export license and enter the international market.

I increased my company by buying machinery with the proceeds from each and every exhibition sale, and I empowered women by giving them jobs. I’ve trained about 50 women in total so far. When I first started in 2010, I only had two women working for me. Now, I have eight men and fourteen women working in different departments including cutting, printing, and sales. My profile: My name is Jaya Saritha, and I graduated in commerce and received my Masters in Hospital Administration from Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad. I worked as an Administrator at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, where I was responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and monitoring all resource departments. I also completed a Business Development Programme for Women Entrepreneurs at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad.

After getting married, I stopped working. I’ve been interested in jute since college, and I learned how to make jute handicraft bags from friends. I noticed numerous times when shopping that women demanded extra plastic tote bags for home usage. This made me question, “Why plastic bags?” Being self-sufficient in my lifestyle, I felt compelled to take action to protect the environment as a social responsibility, as well as to influence those around me.

During my pregnancy, I had no sleep, talked and discussed my idea with my spouse, and wanted to get started right away. Because I was pregnant, my family members wanted me to begin after delivery. But I appreciated the support. This allowed me time to learn about jute. After my baby boy was three months old, I began working on my idea. I then learned about the Jute Board and met Mr. Narsimhulu Garu, who explained how to get started.

I named my unit “Saran Jute Bags” after my son (Saran), who came up with the idea. Being environmentally concerned and primarily established to replace plastic bags.Then I began purchasing machines and materials, as well as training women. There were many challenges in the beginning, but I persevered; I was solely responsible for cutting, printing, designing, sales, and marketing. Sales and personnel levels have gradually improved. I gave birth to a baby girl in 2013, and while pregnant, I cut a lot of jute, attended exhibitions, and worked in sales and marketing.

Now, I’m proud and happy to be sharing my path with Jute, two children, family, and responsibilities. It gives me a lot of encouragement when many aspiring entrepreneurs come to my unit for advice before launching their own businesses. It is vital to remember that life improves with determination and a great deal of effort by taking the initiative to ACT. I never dreamed about success; instead, I worked for it, but only those who are confident achieve it.
